The beautiful town of Cordoba. A small town nestled in the hill side less than two hours from our home. Cordoba has two large attractions. One is a beautiful Catholic church that has use to be a Moorish Masque. The other is an event in May where for two weeks people compete and display their patios and beautiful flowers they have grown.
We found parking and followed the people heading inside the city walls of Cordoba. It has old castle walls surrounding the city. There are a few dozen patios that are on display and the ones that are not still look beautiful from what you can see. We only explored two patios, by the time you wait in line for them and view them, the children were done. It was worth the trip to see though. Then we walked a ways longer to find the cathedral. Jimmy got us tickets to go inside and we went. This cathedral was much different than others we have seen. There are arch ways every where and they are all striped in red and white stripes at the top. The other major difference is when you walk in you don't see the typical Catholic chapel inside. You see many arches and lots of floor space, you have to walk around for a while and then you come around a corner and the chapel lies inside tucked away. Even when you know where it's at and look back, it's very tucked away inside this old Moorish Church. It was a beautiful and interesting church.
